Farallon Consulting, L.L.C. has an opening for an experienced full-time CAD Technician in its Issaquah, Washington office.

The firm is headquartered in Issaquah, Washington, with branch offices in Seattle and Bellingham, Washington; Portland, Bend, and Baker City, Oregon; and Oakland, Folsom, and Irvine, California.

 

POSITION SUMMARY 

Work with Farallon's scientists and engineers to develop high quality figures, exhibits, and plan sets for technical reports, litigation support, and design and construction documents in a team-oriented environment.

The position will consist of full time AutoCAD support to both Farallon's engineering group as well as the company at large for detailed technical drawings and other figures. Work with others to improve Farallon's technical drawings through the application of uniform standards, incorporation of appropriate xrefs, and best practices. Build and maintain AutoCAD resources to be used by other AutoCAD drafters and help junior staff develop essential skills.

 

Requirements and Qualifications  

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in AutoCAD, 8 preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD extensions including Civil 3D.
  • Previous experience preparing complete engineering plan sets and maintaining AutoCAD resources such as lisps, templates, xref libraries, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and maps.
  • Knowledge of environmental consulting and engineering practices.
  • Competent with MS Office suite including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to follow detailed instructions; thorough and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as a well as accept direction on given assignments.
  • Other graphics design and/or modeling or rendering software experience a plus.

 

Responsibilities 

 

  • Prepare CAD drawings and plan sets, maintain CAD file structure for new and existing projects.
  • Works with project managers to prepare drawing, plan sets, and exhibits as needed.
  • Prepare accurate detailed drawings from data supplied by field surveys.
  • Read and implement redline revisions to figures to create final products.
  • Provide support for cartographic design and map production in CAD.
  • Develop and maintain CAD xref libraries, title blocks, and other resources for all corporate CAD work.
  • Improve CAD production and workflow and best practices through application of experience and coordination with other team members.
